The Ideal Career Framework (ICF) that we teach is fairly simple: it's all about focusing attention and energy on one's passion, talent, solution and values. As a result, a person can have a phenomenally rich and successful career.

Talentelle vs Google

During an Ideal Career Workshop a few weeks ago, someone asked me about the vision behind Talentelle. I quickly said: "Our vision is to become bigger than Google."

I was half-joking, but in fact, that was my secret intention since July 4th, 2006 when I took over as CEO of Talentelle.

After one year, we succeeded in creating "product security," that is, we now have 3 proprietary workshops which contain an exponentially growing amount of intellectual property. In short, we've got something solid to sell to women who want to liberate themselves and empower themselves economically.

Now is the Marketing Phase. We need to reach 3 billion women.

This is the main reason why I decided to "open our kimono" and share a lot of confidential information on this blog. Indeed, we have what I call "super-money" (i.e. instructional assets and solutions that are highly liquid). We need an army of women and men to rapidly saturate markets with that "super-money." Of course, every time this super-money is matched with an audience, MONEY is created.

I want to turn Talentelle into a global plug-and-play infrastructure, enabling any serious person to create value and make money from playing with us.

Ladies, please tell me what you need...

After serving women for over a year, I've come to the following three conclusions about women's needs. Being a modest person, I've decided to call them Peter's Fundamental Laws of Female Satisfaction:

A man should never assume he knows what a woman needs.
A man should never assume she knows what she needs.
If a man asks a woman what she needs, he should never assume that she is telling him the truth.

Note: It's not that women will lie, it's just that women's needs are all interlinked in a complex web of mysterious feminine consciousness and, as a result, it's often hard to isolate, let alone define a single need precisely. This is why women often need to talk about something before they finally decide that "Yes, I really need it." I will write more about this shortly, especially about the elusive, mysterious little need (which I call the "baby need") that accompanies EVERY female need. Also, I will write about the SPIN framework to help women clarify their needs (SPIN stands for Situation, Problems, Implications, Needs-Payoffs).

Bottom line: Until I develop psychic powers and can read women's minds, it would help tremendously if you could tell me what you need, in terms of help and support for your career or startup business. I would REALLY appreciate it! Thanks.

What do you think of a Volunteers Program at Talentelle?

Ever since my sister Zoonie (the charismatic leader of a post-feminist women's movement -- I'll tell ya, I wouldn't be surprised if she turns out in a few years to be leader of the Women's Party in Canadian politics!) and I started Talentelle, I've met gazillions of women.

I think I meet more women per month than the limit allowed by federal regulations for any one man. Anyways, I'm not complaining because women are very pleasant creatures. Also, they help me get in touch with my "feminine" side! :-)

So here's an idea I had, please let me know what you think.

What if we invited men to volunteer at Talentelle? Volunteering is good for the soul. Also, it's good to meet new people to open up one's horizons.

I volunteered for several organizations in the past, such as Compeer (for the mentally ill). I always found it was great fun (plus, I met a lot of kind, warm and beautiful women -- that was not my main purpose, of course!).

Zoonie could use some help, and so could I. Volunteers would be most welcome. We have a great variety of things to do, no matter what talents or skills are contributed by volunteers.

How to reach 500 women per week by leveraging existing social networks as well as the Internet
How to set up "Career Clubs" in corporate workplaces to professionally empower women
How to design a micro-investment program (e.g. $100-200) so women can invest in Talentelle while also learning how a business operates. We would probably guarantee the capital and promise a ROI of 15% per year

We're also willing to pay (in gift certificates for our seminars, workshops and consulting/coaching services) for good ideas on marketing, new products, new services, innovative bartering platforms and innovative (and fun!) marketing research techniques and events.

Superman portal

The original idea was to share with men all the training and learning solutions I created for women at Talentelle (www.talentelle.com).

The men's market is quite different from the women's market. Every teenager understands the dramatic differences between men and women, yet most companies (including multinational corporations) market to women the same way they market to men. Unbelievable!

The formula for marketing to men seems to be "Keep It Simple, Stupid" whereas for women, it seems to be "Keep It Sweet, Silly."

In fact, you can't really "market" to women. A company has to earn the trust of women and even learn to seduce them.

Women respond to messages or experiences that appeal to their senses and offer meaning. Their psychology is infinitely more complex than men's, and they are capable of discerning and appreciating far more nuances and subtleties.

Socionet vs Internet

The Internet is a network of interconnected computers.

The Socionet (a term I invented) is a network of interconnected people. Example: Facebook, Linkedin, etc.

If you want to make money with the Internet, you have to adopt the mass marketing methods and practices of ad agencies. Oh, you have to master technology as well.

We believe it's easier to make money with the Socionet, that is, by leveraging the existing trust-based relationships built via social networking sites like Facebook and Linkedin.

My question is, "Yes, there is enormous viral marketing potential in the Socionet, but how does one design a product or offer with high viral effectiveness and efficiency?"

In short, with traditional marketing, promotion was key. With viral marketing, the product is key. Product design can make or break a marketing campaign.

Granted, not ALL of them have lifted themselves above poverty and are ready to start a business. But still, that's a sizable market for business education.

Business = Innovation + Marketing

Our challenge is not innovation. We keep creating new training solutions for women, whether it's for their career development or their startup business.

Our main challenge lies with marketing. Initially, I thought that marketing should not be a difficult problem. After all, when I walk in downtown Montreal, one person out of two is a woman. I just have to hand out our flyer or my business card.

The problem with that, of course, is that I have no idea who the woman is, or what her career / business needs are.

It seems better to advertise in a newspaper or magazine. However, we want to operate with a marketing budget of zero. This is part of a business model I created, called ICUP (insignificant costs, unlimited profits). Sounds cool, eh? :-)

After all, this is the Internet Age. Every woman is connected to the Internet, isn't she?

How can we create a viral marketing campaign to reach women on the Internet?

WANTED: Ideas for commercially leveraging the Talentelle brand

Talentelle (talent + elle) is a great name. It focuses attention on women and on the special talent of each and every woman.

Talentelle also has breadth. In other words, many products and services could be sold under the Talentelle brand name: coaching services, career services, training services, even inspirational products like Successories (but less "corporate" and more "feminine").

Do you have ideas for products that we can buy and then slap the Talentelle brand name on, or products that we can develop in-house?

I'm even thinking about Talentelle Lingerie (like Chantelle). Why not?

Global preemption

One issue I constantly think about is "global preemption."

In other words, how can Talentelle reach millions of women within a few weeks? Ultimately, Talentelle should be a household brand as recognizable as Google.

Ultimately, Talentelle is like Google in that we are in the "search" business. Google helps people find information, Talentelle helps women find their special talent (and build a career or business from it).

Do you have ideas on how Talentelle can reach millions of women within, say, 8 weeks?

Since we are a lean (but not mean!) company, we don't want to incur marketing costs. We are interested in ideas about how to leverage existing associations and social networks in order to reach women and put our message in front of them.
